Office Party Wear : Ten Don'ts That Can't Be Your Do's

When it comes to choosing a party wear, let's not forget the difference between a party at a friend's house and the same at the office. Undoubtedly, a party will always remain a party but it is the dress sense that makes us believe that which party we are in.

While we are at an unofficial party, we don't need to sport formal attires and sport a professional look. And the same condition applies at an office party. Merely thinking about wearing some casuals may bring an unseen chaos to the party and your whole personality.

The consequences may be many such as; getting isolated, getting mocked at etc. Even you may bring an unwanted wrath of your boss which may lead to a new entry in his bad book. So before water touches your nose, get you party wear right.

Don't be a crayon box: Believe it or not, if you wear party dresses which are too colorful you may look like a school kid after his/her drawing class. Rather go for BLACK only. Definitely, any black formal attire proves to be better than the best.

Asses you accessories: Your fashion accessories, belts, shoes, tie, jewelery etc should be in complete match with your dress. Imagine wearing a white belt with a black trouser. Never try a thing like this. Also, you shouldn't dare to go without a belt.

Office is not a disco or a pub: Don't try to contaminate the office party by wearing fashion apparel which seem to be suitable for nightclubs. Avoid clothe which are loose-fit and tend to reveal “things” which should have been wrapped around carefully. Don't try to look “sexy”.

Avoid the mess on your head: It is okay that you have sported formal dresses but it is not okay at all, if you make a mess of your hairstyle. Refrain from getting it colored and getting it spiked or streaked. Rather, comb it formally and apply gel lightly.

Remember, you are not a lorry: When at the office party, you need to be completely comfortable. You should choose dresses which are light in weight and fit “handsomely”. Don't wear heavy and floor-sweeping dresses which hamper your free movement.

Look Unique but not the odd one out: There is no harm if you try the best available and most fashionable formal dress in order to look magnetic, updated and “one-piece”. But it may be utterly embarrassing, if you apply dress styles which your parents used to apply when they were young. Simply, don't get old fashioned.

Look at the calendar: Keep a tab on the season the party falls in. Always wear dresses which keep you warm if it winters and relaxed in summers.

Days are different from nights: While dressing yourself, you must know that what suits in a daytime office party is different from one which happens in the night. Use light apparels and minimize the use of accessories and jewelries in daytime party.

Don't be the early bird while shopping: Of course, you need not to buy the clothes at eleventh hour. But wait for the latest. If found a dress exciting, ask the salesman about the feedback that dress has got.

While Shopping reach the farthest: Also, don't buy a dress from a shop nearby your colleague's home. Who knows if he/she had gone for the same one for the same party. At its worst, it may be a “fashion collision” at the party.

Know you body: It is the most important thing. Unless you know your body type, you can't buy a suitable dress. Hence you can't do wonders at the parties. Remember, if you have pear-shaped body, you need to be more careful.
